Emergency roof repair in Houston means the roof is open or about to wet the rooms under it. A limb through a plane, a ridge peeled in a thunderstorm, or a flashing that failed in wind-driven rain — those are emergency calls. A slow stain that has been there since last spring is a leak appointment, not this page.
We take the call at (713) 555-0148. We pick up during business hours and respond within one business day. If you reach us about an opening, we talk through a tarp versus a scheduled visit and we put that on the calendar. We do not staff an around-the-clock on-site crew. Calls are taken and a tarp or visit is scheduled. That is the limit.
Meyerland (77096) is the district we pair with this service. 1950s ranches along Brays Bayou took Harvey in August 2017, the 2015 Memorial Day flood, and the 2016 Tax Day flood. Many houses were elevated in rebuilds. An elevated ranch still has a roof, and an emergency opening on a raised structure has different access than a slab at grade. Secondary need there is storm damage after the opening is closed.
What we do: confirm the opening is safe to approach, limit water with a tarp or a board-and-felt close when that is the right short step, then schedule the repair that actually closes the plane. We photograph what we see. We do not invent a dollar figure on the driveway. Drivers are height and pitch, how much decking is gone, whether a tree is still on the house, and whether the field around the hole is already at replacement. The number follows the walkthrough.
Katy and Cypress storm calls sometimes start here when shingles are in the yard, then move to storm damage for the wider field. Inner-loop bungalows can open at a chimney after clay movement plus one hard rain — that may be emergency close, then leak repair.
The Houston factor
Gulf humidity and a long rain season mean an opening does not “dry out tomorrow.” Wind-driven rain pushes water laterally under remaining shingles. Ponding on a low-slope section will keep loading the hole. Hurricane season is June 1–November 30 (NOAA). That calendar raises the chance of tropical moisture and named systems. It does not authorize fake around-the-clock staffing language.
Harvey (August 2017) is the extreme rain everyone here remembers. Published IAH multi-day totals for that storm are commonly cited in the mid-thirty-inch range. We do not invent street-level inch counts. Large hail is less common than in North or West Texas. Most emergency openings we see are wind, trees, or a flashing that finally let go — not a hail-punched field. Coastal clays can pre-open a chimney so the first tropical rain looks like a sudden emergency. Pine limbs from Memorial and Woodlands canopy are a real puncture source.
What to do before we arrive
Stay off a wet steep roof. Move furniture, put a bucket under the drip, and kill power to a soaked fixture if you can do that safely. Note the time of the rain and which rooms failed. That is more useful than a guess about which shingle is guilty. Use the quote form if you cannot call, and mark job type as emergency.
Questions about emergency repair
Do you offer around-the-clock emergency roofing?
We take calls and we schedule a tarp or visit. We pick up during business hours and respond within one business day. We do not advertise a crew already on the road at every hour as a fact.
Will a tarp be a permanent fix?
No. A tarp is a short hold so rooms stay drier. The repair is the flashing, decking, or shingles that close the opening. We say that before we roll a tarp.
What if a tree is still on the house?
The tree has to be off the plane before a lasting close. We can talk sequence with whoever is cutting. We do not pretend a tarp under a live trunk is a finished roof.
Does flood history in Meyerland change the roof scope?
Elevation and prior rebuilds change access and sometimes the wall-to-roof details. Flood history does not, by itself, mean the shingles must come off. We look at the opening we were called for.
Can I send a photo at night?
Yes. Use the quote form. A photo helps us see opening versus stain. It does not replace a visit and it does not produce a menu price.
